Lama Jigmé Namgyal

Lama Jigmé Namgyal was born into a nomadic family in Golog, in the eastern part of Tibet where he studied Buddhism from an early age. His root teacher was Khenpo Jigmé Phuntsok Rinpoche, with whom he studied at Sethar Larung Gar University for nine years.

After consulting his teachers, Lama Jigmé Namgyal decided to leave Tibet and come to Europe.

He founded the Tibetan Cultural Centre in Luxembourg and the Buddhist Center Phuntsok Chö Ling in Rotterdam. He also founded the Golog Support Foundation to provide medical assistance and education in the remote areas of Golog. With Compassionate Leadership, he aims to bring ethical decision-making into corporate management through training in mindfulness and compassion. This also includes an ongoing program with the Dutch army.

Lama Jigmé has extensive experience in spiritually guiding and assisting the dying and is also very interested in interfaith dialogue. Because of his sense of humor, he is able to connect with his Western audience in an open and direct way, and to communicate beyond words.

Discovering inner peace

To live a life full of fulfillment and happiness, we need to experience inner peace of mind. The various problems we encounter daily, whether at work, with our families or due to inner fears, sometimes seem to go on endlessly. Yet it is possible to discover inner peace in which all difficulties lose their grip on us. For that experience, we must learn to relax internally and learn to calm our minds.

The path to cultivate this inner peace is fundamental for every human being – there is no distinction by religion, culture or social background. This place is open to everyone.

Beginners and advanced practitioners are equally welcome.
